What to Expect

At your intake exam, your doctor will do a thorough evaluation and develop a treatment plan based on your pet’s diagnosis and current stage on the spectrum of mobility and recovery. She will then review the modalities she recommends in detail and give you a deeper understanding of how they work and why they will help your pet feel better and move better. Most visits last 45 minutes but because the intake exam is so thorough, we may spend a good deal more time with you and ensure that you have all of your questions answered. The initial visit may include exam, measurements, exercises and/or treatment depending on your pet’s current stress level and the complexity of the illness, injury or plan. Above all, we want to maintain a positive relationship with your pet ensuring that we have their buy-in to the process as well. For this reason, some patients may take a few visits to fully peel the onion and determine what is affecting their quality of life the most. Others may dive right into treatment, and we want to make sure that we meet each patient where they are at.
